The customer has said that there is in fact no difference between "Halbbackwaren" and "Aufbackwaren" and prefers the term "pre-baked".
Thanks to all for your input - and especially those who thought that "semi-baked" would be better than "half-baked". I'm afraid I can't see a fair way of awarding points so hope that you will forgive me if I do not do this on this occasion.

I would favor "partially baked" over "half-baked" for Halbbackwaren. The term half-baked has other connotations tied to it (marijuana use) that your customer would probably not want to be associated with.

You are partly right. Aufbackwaren applies to both "finish-at-home products" but also to "finish-in-the bakery products". We are talking here about a packaging producer who would also sell his packagings to producers selling "finish-in-the bakery" or "finally bake in the supermarket" products.
