German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Forestry / Wood / Timber
German term or phrase:Sagschneider
I suspect this is a man who cuts saw blades from metal. Text is from Tyrol in Italy; webpage text is contemporary, so grandfather's time would probably be early 20th century. Confirmation, correction or proper term in English wd be appreciated.

A few musicians who were talented in both artistry and craftsmanship made organs themselves for their own use. Canon Florian Zoller, in the Neustift Monastery of Augustinian Canons since 1723 and Father Martin Ritsch OSB (1802-1859) of Marienberg Monastery built small instruments. A “Sagschneider” (owner of a sawmill) in Eggen, who was also able to play the organ, Peter Eisath (†1899), constructed a few organs for domestic use.
Thanks, I know this. Have been there. Was not sure if there were linguistic distinctions (if such were to have applied to this question) between North and South Tyrol, hence used Tyrol, as in Tyrolean dress (and not South Tyrolean dress)
Tyrol is in Austria, South Tyrol is in Italy, known there as Alto Adige (Upper Adige - the river that runs the region)
