| Note from asker to answererthank you very much! I asked the client for further clarification, and it IS in fact the corner section which "bridges" the gap between couches placed in an L-shape. I carefully avoided any references to the recreational possibilities offered by such a piece of furniture in my translation, but feel free to allow your imagination free rein here ;-)
