German to English translations [PRO] General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters / Video game text | | German term or phrase: abbekommen | So wie Ihr herumlauft, *bekommt Ihr bestimmt keinen ab*.
This is for a video game. The lines are delivered by NPC's to the heros. This line is delivered by a villager, and the last part is a little unclear to me. Any suggestions? |
| | | etwas abbekommen - to be at the receiving end of something | Explanation: etwas abbekommen - to be at the receiving end of something
in this special case (colloquial!) : "sie hat keinen abbekommen" means :
(wie ihr herumlauft = looking like that = being dressed like that ) ... she won't catch herself a husband ... bekommt sie keinen ab = keinen Mann ab
