Knick - Feldhecke. Das Wort "Knick" kommt von "knicken": ursprünglich wurden in SH junge Gehölze, damit sie dichter werden, angeschnitten und auf den Boden zur Bewurzelung und Neuverzweigung abgesenkt. Diesen uralten Brauch gibt es heute nicht mehr. Stattdessen wird "knicken" heute i.S.v. auf den Stock setzen verstanden. Englisch - quickset hedge, elevated hedgerow.
