Eine Stampflehmmauer bildet die Grenze zwischen Natur und Architektur. Sie erinnert an einen Erdschnitt und zeigt sich je nach Licht in einer unterschiedlich intensiven Farbigkeit.

This phrasing gets 58,600 hits. A soil cross-section is probably not wrong, but geological cross-section appears more appropriate.

A soil cross-section is likely to be loosely packed earth with little reflective ability. A geological cross-section on the other hand likely to consist of hardened earth -- i.e., rock -- with good reflectibility and various, clearly identifiable colors.
