German to English translations [PRO] Science - Geology | | German term or phrase: Teiluntersuchung | I can't tell if this simply means a kind of partial exploration (whatever that is) or if it is some sort of core sample technique, or something else.
The context is pretty non-descript:
Detaillierte Teiluntersuchungen über die Ablagerungen der jüngeren Ober-Kreide im Gebiet von XX wurden bisher von yy und zz durchgeführt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
| | | sub-investigation | Explanation: Sounds to me like like detailed investigations of a subset of the Upper Cretaceous deposits, thus sub-investigation, or rephrase slightly as needed. I wouldn't use exploration in the context you have given above. |
