German term or phrase: Hangend

as opposed to the Liegend when describing the upper and bottom parts of a stratification complex, generally referred to as "im Hangenden." I know that mining uses floor and ceiling as terms of art, but I was wondering if there were different terms for geology. Any help would be great. Thanks!
