As a geologist probably I would use just "highly fractured zone", cause real "mylonite zones" consists of very hard rocks and are not typically "fractured" in a technical sense.

Asker: Either one should be fine. This email requesting an assessment for a quote; they haven't started drilling yet and there are no actual zones of either kind yet. Do you have an online recourse I could use for future terms like this? I'm sure there will be more... Thanks!
