German term or phrase: Knickmarsch
I have a definition in German at

http://www.geodz.com/deu/d/Knickmarsch

I don't have any good term in English. I suspect there isn't an exact equivalent because the classification system is German, but any suggestions?

"Knickmarsch"
Explanation:
I think you are right that there is no English translation. I have found the following:

"Furthermore, the intrusion is reflected on pedological maps, since the former Heete channel is filled with younger marine sediments rich in calcium carbonate, while the adjacent areas are formed by the so-called “Knickmarsch”, which is an older decalcified soil with a dense clayey layer (Fig. 1)."

agree  Coqueiro: I would call it an "old coastal/tidal marsh ("Knickmarsch")" combined with your explanation (older decalcified soil with a dense clayey layer)
