German to English translations [PRO]
Science - Geology / wells/ oil drilling/sands
German term or phrase: tw
This comes with very limited context. There are several graphs for this oil drilling project which analyze the oil rate, (water) injection rate, and also tw, which is provided in terms of percentage. The graphs' heading is Produktionsverlauf.

This might not be enough information but it's really all the context I have.

Hmm. I did not know which to pick for this answer but based on the entire world's power consumption at 16 tw/year (as of 2006), I doubt that this project would require that much. Even though it could be Trinkwasser, I'm not sure why it would be abbreviated as lower case letters in German, which is why ultimately I'm deciding on treated water. Both, however, are possible and were mentioned in project use. Thank you all!

agree  MartaMariaC: I'd go along with this one, too - power consumption rate??

neutral  Coqueiro: If it is really TW and not tw this would be a really giant project

-> Yes, TW is the correct abbreviation for terawatts. Also, yes, it would be a really huge project...

neutral  Lynda Hepburn: It seems very unlikely that terawatts would be graphed as a percentage

neutral  Zareh Darakjian Ph.D.: A possibility. Or, as you mentioned, "Trinkwasser". I lean more toward something including "water" in it.
