Asker: Thanks for your answer. By "official" I mean that it is used in more meaningful locations than, say, blogs and chatrooms. Sometimes there were also (semi-)official translations of East German documents for consumption in fellow socialist countries.
Oh, and yes: I started by Googling it ;-)
