German term or phrase: Berichte liefern muß, angesetzt wird.

I can't understand this passage at all at the moment. The fragmentary grammar is completely flooring me!

" Ein Reviervorsteher allein konnte zwar manches tun, es heimlich auf die eigene Kappe nehmen. Aber jederzeit? Und vor allem in jenen Jahren?

Und wer von seinen Untergebenen, falls er hier und da den einen oder anderen Juden warnen konnte, fiel nicht dadurch irgendwann einmal auf? Machte sich verdächtig? Saßen nicht überall Aufpasser? Geheime Spitzel. Wer weiß denn, womit der Nebenmann, die Kollegin gegenüber, der Bote, die Küchenfrau, der zuverlässige Freund erpreßt werden kann, erpreßt wird? **Berichte liefern muß, angesetzt wird. ** »Angesetzt«, das ist ein Wort aus der Jagdhundsprache der Jäger. Im Revier 16 hat es nichts genutzt."
