while this is a very unique word in any case, it doesn't make any sense in German - unless it's supposed to say "auslageartige" - i.e., the person arranges everything neatly like a (shop window) display. This might just mean that the person is a visual type and uses this to understand/process things.... It would certainly help to know what the position was he interviewed for. Otherwise, it's just a Ratespiel.

suggests an exceedingly tentative formulation. "Interpretation" is not at all wrong, but it leads to an overly theory-driven approach. It looks much more like a imaginary "lay out" of ideas, which, held in mind, might allow for flexibility and responsiveness in interviews or planning sessions.

My personal wild guess is that this is a very understated way of hinting that the person in question thinks about things a lot, interpreting (and maybe over-interpreting) details. Possibly with the wider implication that other people would be getting stuff done while this person continues to think.
But speculation is pointless without more context...

With BH and SS regarding lack of useful context. When I hear "auslegeartig", I think exploded-view diagrams and Lego-like constructs, not interpretation.

What does this relate to, particularly the word "Struktur"? Attempt (no guarantee that I come close to the intention of the sentence): he carefully develops some kind of structure which seems to be based on his interpretation [Auslegung] ...
