German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Human Resources / Job Title
German term or phrase: beteiligungscontroller
This is a specific job title in Germany, but we are searching for the equivalent title in U.S. English. My understanding is that the job goes beyond the financial aspects, so it's not just an accounting function. It appears to include oversight of a company's various subsidiaries, in part by reviewing the financial documents and reports, but also being responsible for following up on irregularities and problem areas. Any help would be appreciated!

I did check out the previous posting in 2007, but was hoping something more might be in our collective minds now. Thanks in advance.

Explanation:
see reference; not to be confused with "controller" in US English which would mean "Leiter des Rechnungswesens"

Financial Analyst for Minority Shareholdings
Kommentar we had that a while back in the Forum but the archive does not seem to be working. I know that I came up with something back then that was close to the term above. What Germans call a "Controller" usually is some sort of Financial Analyst in the U.S. (not to be confused with the American Controller, who is really a German "Leiter Rechnungswesen"). A Beteiligungscontroller analyzes the performance of companies for an investor who holds less than 50% of the shares of the company he/she invested in. You may have to alter the title based on the relevance of the job/level in the hierarchy.
According to this discussion in Leo.. maybe it is a starting point

As a Corporate Business Controller, you could say I am something of a ‘spider in the web’. I am regularly in touch with lots of different business units. Although we have a common accounting system here, each of these units faces unique challenges, which all need a tailored approach and solutions.
