disagree  Cilian O'Tuama: IMO more likely to be the holder of a Meisterbrief than a mere foreman.

disagree  Werner Hehn: Cilian is perfectly correct in hia opinion. "Meister" describes an expert tradesman, "foreman" is a heirarchical level. Not the same thing!

Certified Engineer hours

Explanation:
In the US to be a "Meister" Engineer one has to take a state test to become certified as an Engineer in that state. I am thinking that would qualify here as "Meister" to be certified.

Example sentence(s):
  • To become a certified engineer in the State of OH, you must have a bachelor degree in engineering, 300 internship hours, and pass the board of engineering test.

disagree  Cilian O'Tuama: CL5? Hi Mary, ein Engineer hat aber ein Diplom (Uni/FH...), ein Meister hat das Handwerk gelernt und die Meisterprüfung bestanden. What makes you so confident they're the same? (Nix für Ungut) // but you can't just "invent" an equivalent.
