German term or phrase: auf Stöhr

More about life up in the Austrian Alps. I can't find a translation for "auf Stöhr" anywhere. Or is it just another way of saying "von Haus zu Haus"? Could I translate it as "they went from door to door", or is there some other special meaning? TIA for your assistance.
