agree  Textklick: Equally good. I agreed with David first, (biased by current seasonal advertising?) but considering my reference below, I guess you'd say something like "XXX at that price? I'm gonna go for it! Christmas comes but..." ;-))

agree  Paul Cohen: Thank God it only comes once. A post-grading 'agree,' unfortunately, Nicole! I think "make hay..." is more work-oriented, i.e., "das Eisen schmieden, solange es heiß ist" - whereas your Christmas rendition captures the holiday "feiern" of the German.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may

Explanation:
This is really a guess, as it does depend on the context. It means "seize the day" (that old Carpe Diem chestnut, which might also work here) or "life's too short" (might also work, again).

BUT it's more negative than the other two suggestions, as it means "do thing now, because you might not get the chance to do them later". It has a sense of gloom or foreboding about it that "make hay while the sun shines" does not.

(It's from a poem by Robert Herrick.)
