The text is an article about an insurance company. I'm not sure of the correct technical term for "Konzession" in this context.

agree  Helen Shiner: Quite so

-> Thanks, Helen. Apparently, the Canadians issue permits for this sort of thing.

neutral  xxxwfarkas: A "Konzession" is simply a permit or license to carry on a business (in this case to underwrite specific types of insurance ).

-> A permit or licence issued by what authority? I note from your spelling of the word ‘licence’ (i.e. with an ‘s’) that you are commenting from a North American perspective. The asker is a UK national, presumably translating for a European client.

agree  Jenny Streitparth: I would leave it at "is authorised". No more than that.

-> Thanks, JS. Asker has requested the standard wording here, and this is what you will find in all UK GTCs.

neutral  Andrew Swift: 'Permit' is entirely the wrong register. More appropriate to a fishing or hunting context. // Thanks for your PDF ref from the Isle of Man. It confirms that the term of choice is 'authorised'.
