Reference information: The literal translation - and one found all over the internet in German AGBs, etc. - is consequential damage to goods. But I'd like to see a reference to an English-language site.
Note: You'll also see "consequential damageS" but that's wrong because "'damages' in the plural ... is the compensation paid to the successful plaintiff for injury to or interference with their rights." - Legal Translation Explained, Alcarez and Hughes

What Does Consequential Loss Mean?
The amount of loss incurred as a result of being unable to use business property or equipment. If the property/equipment is damaged through a natural disaster or accident, only certain types of insurance can cover the owner for lost business income.
Consequential loss is considered an indirect loss (as compared to losses from the direct damage). Direct damages would be covered under different types of insurance, such as property/casual or fire insurance, but the firm still incurs the costs of lost operations.

Loss that is not a direct result of a peril. For example, damage to property of a business firm would be a direct loss, but the loss of business earnings because of a fire on its premises would be an indirect loss.

Some companies offer endorsements or separate policies to cover indirect losses for an additional premium. Be sure that the policy covers any type of indirect loss caused by damage to the covered person or property.
