Similar to my other question, I don't think it's as simple as "characteristics". I think this is part of the proposal when the company takes out an insurance policy, which is decisive for the amount of premiums to be paid and what liabilities are covered. |

The policyholder makes claims or contractual representations 'shown in his business spec.' i.e.. brochure etc. to possessing certain qualities that are now covered by ins. if s/he doesn't live up to them.
BTW: fehlende Eigenschaften = misrepresentations in contract; mis-statements in tort.
