German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Insurance
German term or phrase: Ventillösung
Context: "die Ausübung der Tätigkeit als Ausschliesslischkeitsvermittler im Rahmen einer Ventillösung"

Used in apposition to being a broker or multiple agent in policy terms and conditions for liability insurance for insurance and financial services brokers. Apparently applies only to non-life and non-medical insurance. Any help on the English term/equivalent would be very welcome!

tied agency
Explanation:
Ventil in the sense of "outlet". Google finds over 100 sites for Ventillösung, and it's clear from those that are relevant to insurance that it means an exclusive relationship - one in which the agent is only permitted (licensed, authorised) to place business with one company, i.e. he's not allowed to call himself a broker.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. From Google the meaning was clear, but the English term was not. Good to have confirmation.
