Die Hauptversicherung in eine beitragsfreie Versicherung umwandeln.

I'm a bit confused between "paid-up insurance" and "non-contributory insurance" - beitragsfrei matches both. Is there a difference?

paid-up (frozen) v. non-contrib. (continuing)
Explanation:
My ex-agency's co. pension scheme was stopped and turned into a paid-up scheme. It's non-contributory from that point onwards.

However, if the agency had not docked my own salary for contributions whilst the scheme was live, it would have been non-contributory before turning paid up.

If you know the insurance stops, say paid-up. If not, say non-contributory/ paid-up.

'... employee which is completely paid for by their employer: - a non-contributory insurance policy. - a non-contributory pension plan. ...'

agree  Terry Moran: Must be right. Does German really use the same term for both? They mean completely different things.
