sylvie malich: 5:53pm Nov 1, 2005: @ Brie - I'm not quite convinced it is as easy as that. 99.9% of the sites googled for "Meta Navigation" are German. If it is so common in Germany, there must be a navigation term that is equally common in English.

Steve Yates: 1:39pm Nov 2, 2005: IMO it is better to go with a more commonly accepted term, even if there is a slight difference in meaning, than with a term which is frowned upon by some experts. I am sure that 'global navigation' is in no way misleading in this context. -

Sorry, Silvie, but I think it *is* that easy. "Meta" is not a German prefix.
Here is a definition from Webster's Online Dictionary, the Rosetta Edition:
