German term or phrase: ausstoppen
Swiss Company financial statement:

Trotz eines schwachen Beginns des Monats, in dem der Fondsmanager aus fast allem Indizes ausgestoppt wurde, war der Januar ein profitabler Monat.

stop losses were triggered
Explanation:
Not 100% sure, but given the context, I'll bet dollars to donuts this refers to stop loss orders being triggered.

In spite of a weak beginning, in which the fund manager was sold out of almost all indices following stop loss orders, January was still profitable.

If the fund was invested in indices, say via ETFs, it would be normal (and prudent) to have stop loss orders in place. If the index declines below a specified level, the orders are automatically triggered and executed in order to restrict the potential loss in the position.

stopped

Explanation:
Just guessing, though
January was a profitable month, inspite of a weak start during which the funds manager was almost stopped
