Anyone know what a DV-Fachentwurf is?

Thanks a lot!

Clarification request(s) and response
Hilary Davies: 1:47pm Sep 11, 2005: draft - Hello! I should probably be more specific about my questions, sorry! It's got to be some kind of draft, but what kind of draft would a software developer be creating? Is there such a thing as a "software draft"?
Aniello Scognamiglio: 2:41pm Sep 11, 2005: Hi Hilary, the term "Fachentwurf" is very rarely used. Presumably, they mean "DV-Fachkonzept". You'll probably find the Englisch equivalent for that ;-) -
Harry Borsje: 3:04pm Sep 11, 2005: DV = Datenverarbeitung I'd think; maybe that helps -
Hilary Davies: 4:05pm Sep 12, 2005: Thanks very much for everyone's help! I decided that Aniello's suggestion made the most sense - it's a type of draft spec. Many thanks!

functional analysis model of the DP

Explanation:
The web ref contains abstracts in English and German of a dissertation on a similar topic. Fachentwurf seems to correspond there to "functional analysis model", though the sentence isn't a straight translation.
(DV: Datenverarbeitung > DP: data processing).
For a proper understanding of your source text you ideally need an understanding of the software system development process.

specialists' draft

Explanation:
Hi Hilary, the "fach" here is either referring to experts or specialists. My second option therefore is:
experts' draft

it must be some kind of a draft they draw up based on the analyses mention (possible improvement plans, new IT projects etc.). it's hard to know more without more content.

or possibly software development plan draft

Hilary, I just notice a typo in my reply to aniello here. i meant a draft o*F* a specification. The "r" on my keyboard is directly over the "f", probably on everybody else's too! what i wrote with ther made no real sense as it would have been incomplete!

-> of course i meant an IT (or EDP) ...

neutral Aniello Scognamiglio: not a draft, Stephen, sure! Depending on the context it could be "design" or "specification" (own experience!). "Fachentwurf" belongs to the "analysis and design" stage (one of the 5 stages or so in systems development!).

-> ok, it could be a draft or a specification
