The entry above is rather literal, but I reckon the sentence would flow better if it is paraphrased slightly:
- we would expect the banks to have a special interest in security
- we would have expected the banks to be more committed to security than anyone else.
(I'm not keen on "precisely" or "exactly" as an equivalent for "gerade" in this sentence.)
