To answer these points, the term has not actually been used in the text in this form. I think it could indeed be target value but I would need to reformulate all occurrences of "Ziele" which I've translated as "objectives". An example of one such objective with reference to evaluation of website effectiveness is "Informationen sind aktuell" and "Informationen sind fehlerfrei". I have always translated "Ziel" as "target" where it can be measured quantitatively, but these criteria are more subjective and are measured on a sliding scale, hence I have used "objective" to translate Ziel. So I'm now wondering whether "Zielgrösse" could be the level to which an objective is achieved in this context, but this is very wordy.

Is this a search of text on the website or of data in an underlying (or otherwise associated) database?

This is important for understanding what is needed.

Maybe I'm too simple-minded but in my opinion you have to have a copy of the text to be searched and there you should find the actually required term. Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense (at least not to me; simple-minded, remember ;-))
