German term or phrase: in einer Art Käfig
Und weil diese Vorgänge immer komplexer werden, hat es sich eingebürgert, dass pro Fach-Applikation ein Server aufgesetzt wird. Hier setzt die Virtualisierung ein. Anstatt dass für jede Lösung ein physikalischer Server eingerichtet wird, werden mehrere Fach-Applikationen zusammen mit je einem eigenen Betriebssystem auf einem leistungsfähigen Server in einer Art Käfig (virtualisiert) in Betrieb genommen.

I am a bit lost here - "in a typ of cage" sounds strange...can anyone help?
