Can I use "business relationships with INTERESTED PARTIES resp. PERSONS" - in this context? Close person - could work. But then "Nahestehende" on its own?? How would this best be translated? Many thanks.

Related Persons

For purposes of related party transactions:

1. Members of your family, including only your brothers and sisters, half-brothers and half-sisters, spouse, ancestors, and your lineal descendents (child, step-child or foster child, and grandchildren.)

2. Businesses, organizations, and persons who have certain business relationships with you or your business and whom the IRS does not consider disinterested parties. For specific rules, see "Related Party Transactions" in IRS Publication 17, Your Federal Income Tax."

Hi Camilla, I can't tell without having more context. Affiliated would state that they are already in a contractual relationship, which makes a huge difference. Can you provide the full sentence please? TIA!

neutral  Steffen Walter: "closely" is not commonly used in this case (accounting, finance) in English.
3 hrs

disagree  Cetacea: Not only is "closely" not a must, it is wrong. What's more, you can't translate "Nahestehend" (noun) as simply "related"; you need either person or party to go with it.// Exactly! Problem is, "related" is not a noun...
5 hrs
  -> "nahestehende Personen" is the issue, an adjective + a noun

17 mins
  -> Don't appologize - it is a valid option

disagree  Steffen Walter: No, the term of art in finance/accounting is "related parties/persons". / That's what I did - I stand by my comment. / Yes, "term of art" in the sense of conventionalised usage.
50 mins
  -> term of art???

disagree  Cetacea: An affiliated person is something different. See e.g. http://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/affiliatedperson.asp // I don't doubt your intentions are honorable, but you're still wrong.
