Sorry to ask such an easy question, but I've never quite known what this means. Does it just mean a period of one month may be given by either side? Does it mean the contract may only be terminated at the end of a year?

agree  Armorel Young: yes, but just "at the end of the year" or possibly "at the end of any year" - not "each year" because you can only do it once, not repeatedly year after year (and it doesn't say jedes Jahr in German)
