Agree with all these attempts - it usually boils down to looking for the subject, predicate (main verb) and object in your source sentence. Der Verkäufer (subject) tritt ab (main verb) Ansprüche (direct object) an den Verkäufer (indirect object). Once you have done that, the rest is usually manageable. When Germans learn English, they tend to ignore usual word order, which is why the always have to be reminded of the SPO rule.
BTW When I learnt German in England in the 1960's it was considered almost equivalent to Latin from the point of view of learning how grammar works! |
