German to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) / Commercial lease
German term or phrase: unerlaubter Handlung
I am struggling with "unerlaubter Handlung" and "als dessen Lieferungsbedingungen eine Haftung vorsehen". Any comments on my interpretation please?

The tenant shall not enforce any more extensive claims for compensation against the utility company arising from unlawful acts if its terms of delivery provide for a legal liability unless the corresponding liability limit is unlawful.

agree  Faye Bennett: I agree with David. The tenant cannot claim any damages arising out of tort over and above those provided for in the terms of delivery unless the limitation of liability in the terms of delivery is unlawful.

Explanation:
This might be an alternative if you are looking for a wider context, slightly removed from more formal legal language.

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
disagree  David Wright: This is a contract. It needs to be in formal legal language. non-authorized activity would imply that the tenant needs an authorisation for everything he or she does.
