Daher einigen sich die Parteien darauf, keinerlei Ausgleichungszahlung für die Übernahme der Geschäfte zu leisten, soweit solche nicht in diesem Vertrag gesondert geregelt sind.

I would like to know if 'assignment' can be used here for 'Übernahme'. This is actually about a 'Geschäftsäußerung' [business alienation] of retail stores. I know 'Übernahme' is 'takeover' but I wonder if that word is confusing here.
