As I thought; if you can find out which has the senior grade, I'd go for "senior customs inspector" for one or the other...

Hi David. As you said, there are no exact English equivalents so I think I'll just keep both terms as "customs inspector" as I've already got Zolloberinspektor as "Senior customs inspector". Thanks for your help anyway.
