Bus/Financial - Law: Taxation & Customs
German term or phrase: effektive Einnahmen
From a document which outlines how income derived from stocks and shares should be taxed. Specifically, in the sentence:

"Die effektiven Einnahmen sind nicht relevant."

The entire sentence has me stumped, I'm afraid... what kind of revenue does effektiven Einkommen refer to exactly? Does "relevant" here mean that it is not calculated in the tax assessment???

All suggestions welcome, many thanks!

unrealised revenue
Explanation:
The unrealised revenue (from stocks & shares) are not relevant for purpose of computation of tax. This is one possibility.

As an accounting practice, you take all the incomes (whether earned or accrued). I think, what he means is that for the amount accrued (i.e. not realised), it is not taken into account for computing tax. Perhaps you have to pay tax the next year when it is realised.
