German to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law (general) / Excerpt from an "ABGB" for an Austrian ad agency, designated here as "XXYY"

My (still very rough! Sorry!) first draft:
8. DEADLINES XXYY strives to meet every agreed upon / designated deadline. The legal consequences of failing to meet deadlines occur // come to pass // begin // are initiated // come into being at the instigation of the client at the earliest when the client has granted at least 14 days of grace. This grace period begins upon the receipt of a reminder to // at {the offices of} XXYY. An obligation to pay compensation // damages according to // derived from the section regarding default// delay exists only in the event of intent or gross negligence on the part of XXYY. (...)"

Two legal definitions of "Titel" that Leo offers is "section" or "subsection" -- so I've taken a shot in that direction with the text translation.
But is that what the text "aus dem Titel des Verzuges" is really getting at? Or does it refer to the literal/legal definition of default? I'm just not sure.
Thanks as always for any tips and advice!

legal claim or recognized claim
Explanation:
Ich sehe es als "Rechtstitel", d.h. Anspruch. Vielleicht könnte man auch "title" nehmen.

Thank you all for your insights! I think in the context of this document/paragraph, "legal claim" works best.
Thanks again for parsing it for me!

delay damages

Explanation:
Is it possible that "aus dem Titel" here is just a fancy way of saying "wegen"? And so "Schadenersatz aus dem Titel des Verzuges" reduces to simply "delay damages."
