German to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents - Law (general) / Sammelklagen
German term or phrase:prozessökonomisch
This is from a text about the disadvantages of introducing class action/collective consumer redress on a European level. It talks about the US class action system and its disadvantages to illustrate the point. I need your help with the following sentence:
"Auch die zuweilen angeführten prozessökonomischen Vorteile von Sammelklagen bestehen faktisch nicht." It goes on to say: "Die Entscheidung über eine abstrakte Sach- oder Rechtsfrage ersetzt nicht die erforderlichen Folgeprozesse..."
Now, I know exactly what "prozessökonomisch" means. It means that class action is simply more cost-effective and saves time since it entails only one lawsuit instead of hundreds, or so the claim goes. But I can't think of a good, concise and to-the-point English translation. Please help!
