German term or phrase: Sterbeeintrag / Sterbeurkunde

I have written to a Registry Office in Germany to ask for a death certificate of one of my ancestors. My German is very rusty but they seemed to get the general gist of what I was after. However, they have offered me the above. Can somebody tell me what the difference is, please? I am particularly interested in whether one of them includes the cause of death.

Sterbeeintrag: Eintrag im Kirchenbuch; Sterbeurkunde: erteilt vom Standesamt.

"Ab 1800 wurden bei den Sterbeeinträgen im staatlichen Auftrag die Todesursachen aufgeschrieben. In der Zeit vor 1800 findet man vereinzelt solche Einträge, zum Beispiel bei Unfällen, Seuchen oder Kriegsereignissen.
Auch heute wird auf dem von einem Arzt ausgestellten Totenschein die Todesursache vermerkt. Diese wird aber nicht vom Standesamt in die amtliche Sterbeurkunde übertragen, sondern nur vom Statistischen Landesamt ausgewertet."

Explanation:
Sterbeeintrag is the action of entering one's death on a register, whereas Sterbeurkunde means death certificate. The former means when you go to a city office to register that XX has died, the clerk will ask you to fill out a form using the death certificate issued by a doctor. On the otherhand, the latter is issued before going to the city office to register, the moment XX died. This is issued by a doctor who has confirmed that the person has died at XX:YY (time and hour) in the year ABCD. Based on this certificate, the clerk will register the death of XX.

Apparently, an autopsy has been conducted to this person's death, and I'm sure that this would reveal the cause of death.
