German to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law (general) / designation for attorneys
German term or phrase: mandatsleitende Anwälte
This comes from a sales presentation for a law firm specializing in risk management

"Unsere _mandatsleitenden Anwälte_ werden in effizienter Weise vom XXX IT-Center unterstützt"

I tried to create something with mandate, but that just made no sense to me. Does it basically mean, "our senior attorneys" or "the attorneys in charge of our key accounts" or some such? The text goes on to list the various non-legal specialists who help out (programmers, project managers, etc).

I suddenly had the idea, "Our customer accounts are always led by an attorney, supported..." I'd appreciate any feedback.

lead counsel

Explanation:
The term exists:
http://www.bardehle.com/en/team/detail/person/munzinger-pete...
(OK German lawyers, but they are also very familiar with English terminology) - but is it the same thing? I suspect it's close, but you'd have to decide.

(DE) case-management lawyers; (CH/Li) key-account attorneys

Explanation:
The question doesn't specify the German-speaking area. That's why I've gone for a near-literal translation for Germany where it's possible for laywers to write 'mandatsleitende Schreiben'.

If it's Switzerland or Liechtenstein, then Joanna's head-of-dept. ref. is relevant.

I suspect that, individually, the lawyers will have the title 'of counsel'.

Example sentence(s):
  • Schriftsätzen, Gutachten oder mandatsleitenden Schreiben ist hier ein wichtiges Indiz.
  • en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_case_management
