Law/Patents - Law (general) / Pass, Ausweis
Lebensjahres
Mir liegt zur Übersetzung ein "Notreiseausweis" vor. Ausgestellt in Deutschland.

Tausend Dank!

agree  David Wright: Exactly. However, no idea about the rest of the problem! **On reflection: It should be children under the age of ten.

disagree  Andrew Swift: The German is more precise. Not clear from your formulation whether this includes or excludes ten-year-olds. // If you really think that the tenth year of life ends on the eleventh birthday, I must change neutral to disagree.

-> No need to re-read the German. It says up to (and including) completion of the 10th year of its life.Hence the day of the child's 11th birthday sees the child's exclusion from the qualification.

neutral  writeaway: with Andrew for once. actually the English reads as though 10 year olds are excluded. which ain't what the German says
25 mins
-> The "and including" part isn't necessary in English.See above and below.

neutral  trsk2000: it is possible that the English translation here may be misconstrued/misinterpreted
53 mins
-> No- in English "up to the age of 10" means until the day of its 11th birthday.

disagree  Cilian O'Tuama: but eligibility ends on the child's 10th birthday, not 11th.

neutral  orla: the German does not mean up to the 11th bday - 10 year olds are excluded which is odd but anyway...

agree  orla: I think it would be essential to include this! Leaving it out could lead to huge misunderstandings as "Children" could mean under 13yrs (ie. not yet a teenager), under 16 or even under 18!
