notice of award is correct for tenders Explanation: If you're talking about a big tender, then the party winning the tender receives a "notice of award". If it's just a plain old order for, let's say, the manufacture of a thousand pairs of shoes, then it's just an order. Forget the letter part. If you really want to make clear that the order was issued in writing, then you could say "written order". HTH Alison |
