Although it is not always possible to find direct equivalents when discussing education systems of different countries, this may be a suitable way of getting the idea across.

Arabicium, Haebraicum, Syriacum
Explanation: Ähnlich wie das Latinum gibt es auch das Arabicum und Haebraicum, für die Übersetzung geht das dann auch in Verbindung mit dem Wort "Prüfung, also Arabicum-Prüfung etc.
Analog wäre dann das Syriacum, das heißt die entsprechenden Mindestkenntnisse in der wahrscheinlich assyrischen Sprache???
Wenn es nämlich Syrisch wäre, wären wir wieder beim Arabicum angelangt...
Hat das was mit Alter Geschichte, Theologie oder Ärcheologie zu tun, wo solche Sprachprüfungen sinnvoll erscheinen???

Ich denke dass diese Bezeichnungen für ein mittleres Sprachniveau der entsprechenden Sprachen gültig sind, also entsprechend dem frühere kleinen Latinum...
Langenscheidt gibt dafür die Übersetzung: Intermediate Latin qualyfying examination, so I suppose you could say: intermediate qualifying examinations in Arabic, Hebrew and Assyrian

I think the languages in conjunction with an examination would depend on the exam level e.g. General Certificate of Secondary Education in Arabic ( GCSE .Arabic), but there are many different examinations. Normally in English I come from Syria, I am Syrian and I speak Syrian, I come from England, I am English and speak English etc.

Arabian is normally the language spoken in Arabia, Arabic is a semetic language spoken by most Arabs, dialects could mean something else in this context.

Asker: Yes, it is the English term for the exam levels that are in Germany called Arabicum, Hebraicum and Syriacum that I am searching for. These exams are taken by students at a university as a requirement for taking the intermediate examination of master of semitic studies.
In Syria there are also other languages present than the Syrian dialect of Arabic. This ancient language, which is an Aramaic language, is called Syriac (you can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syriac).
