agree HeinrichB: Why not? Fox-red may be uncommon but does convey the colour more immediately than 'russet' (apples, barns, leaves). Chestnut - glossy brown, not too reddish --not the colour of a red fox. And the German says 'fox red'. Why not?

  -> Thanks. Red cats are often also called "orange" (mine's definitely orange-coloured!). Don't know if that applies to sheep, though. ;-)
