German to English translations [PRO]
Livestock / Animal Husbandry / Hunting
German term or phrase: ab Strecke
This is from a text about the regional economic accounts for agriculture:

Unter der Position Sonstige Tiere ist der Produktionswert der Jagd verbucht. Dieser wird über den Anfall von Wildbret im jeweiligen Bundesland, bewertet zu länderspezifischen Preisen ***ab Strecke*** (lt. Statistik der land- und forstwirtschaftlichen Erzeugerpreise) bzw. Abgabepreisen an den Handel ermittelt.

I've come across killed game referred to as being "auf der Strecke" but am not quite sure how "ab" fits in here.

Explanation:
Explanation:
I am not certainabout the exact English phrase. The phrase means animals that are sold directly after hunting without any further examination or processing.
Example is a text about swien fever:
"Für Jäger gelte zudem, das Schwarzwild nicht ab Strecke zu verkaufen. Schließlich müssten Aufbrüche und sonstige Tierkörperteile aller erlegten Wildschweine in Tierkörperbeseitigungsanstalten entsorgt werden."

So, I agree with Amorel. You could maybe also say "as hunted".

Apologies for the delay in grading; I've only just finished the translation and decided to use "as hunted" in the end. Many thanks to all answerers for your help; both explanations were very useful so I wish I could have awarded Armorel some points too, especially for pointing out the similarity to "ab Hof" (I really should have thought of that...).
