Study to examine the effects of a plant protection product on the reproduction of Japanese quails:
Verpaarung: Die regelmäßige Verpaarung der in benachbarten Käfigen untergebrachten männlichen und weiblichen Wachteln begann in der 2. oder 3. Adaptationswoche im Alter von 8 oder 9 Wochen. Die Vögel wurden an jeweils 5 Tagen pro Woche durch Zusetzen des Hahns zur Henne für täglich 20 min verpaart. Mit dieser Beschränkung des direkten Kontaktes sollte die Verletzungsgefahr der Hennen bei einer häufigen Wiederholung des Tretaktes über den Tag gemindert werden.
