Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you Wendy - but the sentence reads "Erleben der Hirschbrunft mit Berufsjägern und der Jägerschaft xxx"

agree  MMUlr: Jägerschaft xxx (as I could find it) is a kind of assocation of hunters of the region xxx. I do not see it as a contrast to Berufsjäger.

amateur deer stalkers

Explanation:
There are many differences between German and UK game shooting, so my offer is an approximate rendering. The added context is "Erleben der Hirschbrunft". However, if they also shoot wild boar, "amateur game shots" would be appropriate. The term "amateur" is not usually used but is probably needed here to distinguish from professional shots (gamekeepers, etc). I am not part of the shooting/hunting community in the UK but have friends and relatives who are. "Deer/stag hunting" in the UK would normally be on horseback with hounds (e.g. Exmoor and Quantocks).

Reference information:
Here a reference on the profession / tasks of a Berufsjäger in Austria:
http://www.berufsjaeger.at/index.php?pagenr=3

(To me, it looks like the description of a kind of forest ranger / Förster, mostly in Germany the Förster has all those functions plus being able to shoot deer or game in general (not only deer, also ground game).

However, also in Germany there are Berufsjäger, so-called Revierjäger:
http://www.lwk-rlp.de/bilder/mediafile_4948_VO_Revierjaeger....

(see esp. § 4)

Also thinking of an individual who is in "leisure-time" hunting / stalking, is away from reality, as in Germany the education to get the licence as a hunter (Jagdschein) is quite extensive, these are very responsible-minded people (mostly .... :-) ), also taking the tasks as game keeper, forest ranger, etc. (as landowner or owner of a forest). So I don't see a real Hobbyjäger in Germany. (-> http://www.xxl-jagen.de/jagdkunde/vorbereitung_auf_die_jaege... as an example).

agree  hazmatgerman: leisure: regardless of the Jägerprüfung's severity, fact is that a good part of those who sit & pass do not earn their living from it but need it for social/personal reasons, thus these people are not professional hunters/Jäger but leisure ones.
