Der Landesverband der Rassekleintierzuchtvereine OÖ hat sich die Aufgabe gestellt, Rassekleintiere als althergebrachtes Kulturgut, insbesondere die österreichischen Rassen, zu erhalten und züchterisch zu verbessern, wobei Tier-, Natur- und Umweltschutz in der Rassekleintierhaltung an erster Stelle steht.

This is what I'd suggest, although it's hard to make one word out of it (like so many Gernan words). It would refer mainly to poultry and rabbits, maybe a few others as well. Many of these older breeds are rare and have been replaced by (supposedly) better producing commercial breeds. And many of the so-called commercial "breeds" are actually hybrids, at least in poultry. These older breeds are also known as heritage or heirloom breeds, and judging by your context it seems that's what they're talking about here.
