German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Manufacturing
German term or phrase: nachgegliedert
The following is from a document titled "Waschanlage für abgelängte Rohre", which I translate as "Washing system for trimmed pipes

Mit der Wasch-Anlage sollen die stark mit Ziehfetten, Umformölen, Reaktivenziehmitteln, Phosphatschichten und Spänen beaufschlagten Rohre innen und außen für den Nachgegliederten Schweißprozess und der anschließenden Vorbehandlung zum Lackieren gereinigt und getrocknet werden.

With the washing system, pipes that come into contact with drawn oil, forming oil, reactive drawing agents, phosphate coatings and chips should be cleaned and dried inside and outside for the Nachgegliederten welding process and the subsequent treatment for painting.

Can anyone help with "Nachgegliederten"? I'm assuming the upper-case N is a typo, as it's pretty clearly an adjective.

Explanation:
Actually, the word nachgegliedert may be used once in a while but doesn't exist in the official German vocabulary. And yes, it's an adjective.

agree  Steffen Walter: Thought of "downstream" immediately. They probably meant "nachgelagert". / ... und ebenso!

-> Vielen Dank, Steffen.

agree  Michele Gile: downstream is the one I would use in engineering text- of the list provided
