German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Manufacturing / Plastics - blow moulding | | German term or phrase: Abrissschieber | Term appears in a troubleshooting section of the document, which is about plastic articles formed in a mould in a blow moulding machine.
Bodenabfall nicht sauber abgetrennt - Abrissschieber prüfen, ggf. reparieren.
Having discussed the term with the customer, they have confirmed that the "Abrissschieber" removes excess material from the bottom of the article.
I would translate "schieber" as "slider" and visualise something with a blade that slides along and takes off the excess material. Is anyone familiar with the correct terminology for this machine part? |

| | English translation:scraper | Explanation: I know this is being used for parts to remove excessive materials, e.g. glue scraper in a labelling machine and it is a sort of blade thing as you describe.
Don't know if it is used for blow moulders as well.
